Suneetha (Womanaging Director)

Suneetha is the Womanaing Director of Blighty banking project. She is the lady that runs things on a daily basis.
I first met Suneetha in the summer of 2008 when I visited her orphanage as a volunteer. She is married to Ratnam and together they run an orphanage that houses 80 children (www.missionfortheruralpeople.org) . It is growing rapidly and is a fantastic achievement having only started 8 years ago in a small house with 2 orphans. After visiting the orphanage a number of times we decided to try a microfiance banking project together and Suneetha stepped up as our Womanaging director.
Suneetha is the face and focal point behind the Blighty banking project.
She meets all of our loanees on a weekly basis and holds a weekly meeting at the orphanage in Vellatur, Guntur. At the meeting the loanees discuss the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship. Suneetha treats all our loaness to a delicious cup of sweet chai and they talk until dark. This is also a time when the loanees pay their weekly loan repayment. We have now taken on Daniel, our first Bligthy bank employee, who drives around the loanees every Saturday to collect repayments from those who cant make the meeting. Suneetha is an excellent cook (though slightly over generous with her portions!) and is also a proud mother of two - Smiley and Vitty.
Or should I say a proud mother of 80?!

Microfinance is a movement that empowers and uplifts individuals who otherwise do not have a chance to compete in the capitalist society that we live in. It is a business that grows organically and leaves a trail of goodness in its wake.....
It is a great help and encouragement for me to see your drive and determination. I am setting up my own banking project and so your site is a good source of advice for me.
In some organisations, managers and leaders fall into the trap of believing that financial management is something that the accounts.....
